School-Based Programs

In partnership with local schools and educational institutions

HFA delivers sports programming directly within schools across Southern California. These programs create consistent, accessible opportunities for students to stay active, build confidence, and develop skills through sport in an environment close to home.

We design flexible programming to meet the needs of each school community: from ongoing weekly after-school practices to seasonal clinics and tournaments that introduce new sports and increase participation.

Flexible Format

After-School Classes

Our after-school classes serve students across partner schools, offering structured sports opportunities directly on campus. By embedding programming within the school environment, we remove barriers like transportation and create consistent access to sport in safe, familiar spaces.

Game Days

Game days bring students together to compete, celebrate their progress, represent their schools, and experience team sport in action. These events activate school communities and bring together families, friends, and staff to support youth participation.

Clinics

Our sports clinics provide focused skill-building sessions designed to help players improve quickly in a fun, supportive environment. Perfect for all skill levels, clinics offer expert coaching in a shorter, intensive format.

Leadership Development

Developing local coaches and community leaders

HFA trains and supports local coaches who lead sports programming across schools and community spaces. Our coaching pipeline is built to create long-term leadership pathways through training, mentorship, and hands-on experience.

We believe the strongest programs are led by people from the communities they serve, which is why we invest in developing coaches from within those communities.

Opportunities:

Paid Coaching Roles

We offer paid coaching positions for local, experienced leaders seeking to be a part of our team.

Student Coach Pathways

Our Student Coach Program provides high school and college students with opportunities to build leadership skills while supporting youth sports programming in their communities.

Activations

Bringing communities together through sport

HFA creates community-based sports events and activations designed to bring people together through shared experiences. These moments celebrate participation in sport in all its forms, whether through active play on the field or by cheering from the sidelines.

HFA Sports Club

A model for accessible community sports programming

HFA operates its own community sports club in Downey, CA, as a real-world example of what accessible, high-quality local sports programming can look like.

Guided by the belief that everyone deserves a place to play, the Sports Club offers tennis and futsal programming open to the public, providing opportunities for youth and adults alike to play, connect, and belong. Through the club, HFA demonstrates how local sports organizations can strengthen access, participation, and community through sport.
